Membership

We are a fully licensed and certified commercial kitchen with state of the art equipment for your budding business and highest aspirations. We want to add to Louisville’s already vibrant local food scene by creating a community of like-minded entrepreneurs dedicated to producing top-notch products. We want to help you do better, what you do best.

As a member of Chef Space, you will be assigned days and times that work for you. You and your team will come into Chef Space and do what you do best! Cook! Bake! Can! Preserve! You may be working in the same space with many other food entrepreneurs; or you may be working in the wee hours of the night getting ready to sell your wares in the bright light of morning. You will be part of our growing food economy with others around to help and support you.

Open 24/7

State of the Art kitchen appliances and equipment including:

  • Charbroilers
  • Convection Ovens
  • Food Processors
  • Fryers
  • Gas Stock Pot Ranges
  • Gas Tilting Skillets
  • Ice Makers
  • Mixers
  • Meat Grinders
  • And Much More

A Chef Space membership fee includes:

  • Use of the fully-equipped, fully-regulated commercial kitchen (covering all fixed costs)
  • Technical assistance around all matters of business, marketing, and staffing
  • Facilitating group purchasing for basic foodstuffs
  • Marketing functions including driving awareness to the web, building brands, and bringing products to market.

Membership also covers a portion of variable expenses including creating markets by offering food tasting events, deliveries, and arranging special events. The intangible benefit is working with peers who all wish to succeed for the common good.

Part-time Membership $400

  • Cottage Room/Shared Workspace
  • 8-12 hrs a week
  • No long-term storage
  • No freezer/no cooler
  • No technical assistance
  • Towels/aprons

Full-time Membership $800

  • One Full Rack Dry Shelf (4 Shelves)
  • Two Shelf Refrigeration
  • One Table (5ft or shared 8ft)
  • Technical Assistance
  • Towels/aprons
