Chef Space Sponsorship
Since we opened in November 2015, Chef Space has facilitated the growth of 80 businesses, 12 of which have graduated to their own brick-and-mortar locations. We’ve boosted the economy of West Louisville, creating 400 part- and full-time jobs while increasing food access in a community that’s desperate for options.
As we look towards our fourth birthday, we’re committed to increasing opportunities for budding entrepreneurs to reach their goals, but not everyone who comes to Chef Space is able to afford the cost of a standard commercial kitchen. While we want our businesses to have as much real-life experience as possible, including paying rent, we also aim to facilitate the process for new startups. As an industry leader, you know how difficult it is to launch a successful food venture. You also know that food connects people, transforms health, and sparks joy. Help us minimize the risks for new businesses while uplifting and uniting the Louisville community.
Why Sponsor?
As a nonprofit, much of our current support comes from foundations and federal and state funds. But we believe the food industry is an instrumental part of the solution to creating food access in West Louisville, which is destabilized by a lack of job opportunities, lack of new housing developments, and inadequate access to healthy, fresh food options. With its years of neglect and immediate proximity to downtown, it’s a clear choice for revitalization—revitalization that’s accelerated by new businesses, job opportunities, and growing food options.
Your contribution goes towards facility upkeep, including everything from the shared equipment library to linens to cleaning and maintaining our space. Your support also allows us to provide training, host events and find business leads for our members.
